Algal Blooms

Guidebook for Controlling Harmful Algal Blooms in the Tualatin River Watershed

Help Us Keep Drinking Water Safe for You & Your Family

The Joint Water Commission’s (JWC) TREE Grant project, titled “Reducing Threats to Drinking Water from Surface Water Impoundments”, addresses water quality concerns in the upper-Tualatin River watershed by identifying surface water impoundments in the JWC’s drinking water source area (DWSA) that have the potential to develop harmful algal blooms (HABs).

This work was funded by the Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District’s Tualatin River Environmental Enhancement (TREE) Grant program as part of the Reducing Threats to Drinking Water from Surface Water Impoundments award. This guidebook was created in collaboration with the Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District (TSWCD), Tualatin River Watershed Council (TRWC), and the Joint Water Commission (JWC).
