Past Events

Community Action Fair (October 26, 2013)
The Joint Water Commission hosted a water efficiency booth at the Community Action Fair, held at Mountain View Middle School on October 27, 2012. The JWC gave out 100 water saving kits to help customers decrease water use indoors. Saving indoor water not only helps decrease water bills, it also reduces the usage portion of sewer bills when consumption adjustments are made in July 2014. Kids also colored trick-or-treat bags and shared ideas on how they could save water at home as well.

Washington County Fair (July 25-July 28, 2013)
JWC staffers served 770 gallons of ice-cold tap water through our new “Tabletop Hometown Tap” to thirsty fair-goers. Based on the standard 16.9 oz bottle, that’s about 5,831 empty water bottles that were kept out of the landfill!

Public Works Fair (May 19-20, 2012)
The Joint Water Commission was at the Summit Court with other Washington County public work agencies teaching kids about water infrastructure.

Oregon International Airshow (August 3 – August 5, 2012)
The Joint Water Commission served 1,688 gallons (equivalent to 13,505 16 oz. bottles) of drinking water to airshow attendees who braved 100+ degree temperatures to attend the event.  The JWC also provided information on water supplies in Washington County.  It was the JWC’s first time at the event.
