Resources

The Joint Water Commission works hard to ensure Washington County tap water is always safe to drink and of the highest quality.

The JWC is dedicated to preserving the natural resources that impact drinking water quality for the community. To ensure your drinking water meets or exceeds state and federal drinking water standards, hundreds of water samples are collected and tested each month by a state-certified laboratory.

Water Quality

Protection of public health is the JWC's number one priority. The water community members drink and use every day is tested regularly to ensure every drop is safe and of the highest quality.

Water Conservation

Using water efficiently and avoiding waste is essential to ensure adequate water today and into the future. Water conservation resources are available to help community members save water and money.

Emergency Preparedness

The JWC is actively preparing for emergencies- large and small- to ensure an appropriate, effective and timely response to any situation that potentially compromises drinking water supplies.

Source Water Protection

Protecting our water supply helps ensure safe, clean drinking water for communities, reduces the need for costly water treatment, and protects the local ecosystem.
